NCEL: Knaresborough Town share spoils with groundless Hull United
Knaresborough Town held ambitious, but groundless, Hull United, to a 0-0 draw in the East Riding club’s home fixture which was staged at Manse Lane on Saturday.
The result was probably about right though chances were rare throughout the afternoon as the two sides cancelled out each other’s threats.

Hide AdGeorge Eustance had a shot wide early on and then Brad Walker was wide after a knock down from Fraser Lancaster.
Hull captain Nicky McNamara was then narrowly wide of the mark following a free kick in the 35th minute and in added time at the end of the half, Knaresborough appeals for a penalty were brushed away after Sam Cook believed he had been fouled.
Phil Dobson in the Hull goal then made a great save to keep out a Toby Lees header from a Eustance corner and Lancaster’s follow up shot hit the side netting.
Dobson was again in action as he denied an excellent volley from Walker, but the clearest chance of the game fell to McNamara when a corner was knocked down, but he missed the ball completely when well placed near goal.

Jonty Maullin then made a superb run but ended with a shot which Dobson saved comfortably before play broke to the other end and Jack Walters fired over for Hull.
Dobson made another save to tip over a Mike Morris shot after a corner on the right, but after Eustance fired a shot too high,
it was left to Hull to provide the final effort when Matt Plummer fired over in added time.
