Union and Bilton Cricket Club battle for supremacy

NINE-nil results for the Union against Skipton 'B' and Bilton Cricket Club over Londesboro Club puts both teams at the top of the Harrogate Summer League table but Bilton have a game in hand on the Union so look to be in the better position.
Only John Slack had a noteworthy game for the Union when he checked out in 24 darts. In the Bilton match Shaun Smith won in 24 darts, Colin Ingles in 23, Carl Heptinstall in 18 and Lee Swales in 24.

The Tree had a 7-2 win over Trades Hall. Lames M
oulstone opened with a 23 arrow game and Dave Batty finished in 22, as did Steve Hardisty. Best for Trades was Steve Lind who had 21 and 23 dart games.

Manhattan Club had a 5-4 win against Harlow Hill Club.

Harlow went 2-0 up with wins from Graham Coates who shot a 180 in his 18 and 21 arrow legs and Steve Hurle who shot a 22 darter. Chris Towle had the best for Manhattan with a 24 arrow finish.

Skipton ‘A’ were 6-3 winners over Starbeck WMC with a 180 from Matt Lambert and an 18 darter from Rob Davison.

Bilton WMC had a 5-4 result at Stonebeck. Alan Briscoe had the best game for Bilton when won in 24 darts and Dan Taylor had the best for Stonebeck in 21.

The Harrogate League will be holding its Annual General Meeting at the Woodlands on Wednesday August 20 at 8.30pm.

All teams wishing to take part in the 2008/09 season should attend this meeting and pay their registration fees (£5) while new teams should pay the guarantee fee of £15 as well as the registration fee.

In The Knaresborough League, Union ‘A’ stretched their lead to ten points after hammering the Marquis Charity Team 7-0.

John Slack had a 19 dart leg in the first set, Nick Hanslow won in 20 darts and John Bateson had 21 and 24 darters. Slack and Hanslow then teamed up for a 30 dart pairs game.

The Hart ‘A’ beat the Hart ‘B’ 6-1 for the second time this season. Steve Townson had a 20 arrow leg and Danny Millar won in 21.

The Lido visited The Tree for a 5-2 result. 24 darters came from Dave Batty and Gary Vine.

The Dales Country Mixed Darts League will be holding their AGM at the Harrogate Arms on Tuesday September 2 at 9pm.

All teams, old and new, should attend this meeting to enter the forthcoming winter season. Further details can be obtained from the League Secretary, Gill Hollings on 07702515001.
