Tormey century clinches victory for 'Boro

Division One
Aussie Dale Tormey continued his electric form this season, slashing 117 for KNARESBOROUGH as they beat local rivals FOLLIFOOT.

Tormey and Clyde Williams (56no) were the main players for ‘Boro’ as they posted 186-2.

Chris Dawson (28), Simon Cla
rke (35) and Dave Nudds (35no) tried their best in reply but Tormey’s 4-57 rounded off a great night as ’Foot closed on 154-7.

BARDSEY put their Addison defeat behind them by thrashing STUDLEY ROYAL.

Rob Nicholson (51) and A Mackle (32) made some headway against Oral Blackford’s 4-48, but Collis King’s 47no and Kelvin Patterson (63) saw them home on 140-1.

BISHOP THORNTON remained bottom of Division One after losing at home to WHIXLEY.

Shane Townsend’s unbeaten 113 led Whixley to a target of 202-2. In reply, Bishop Thornton scored 105-5, with R Ward taking 3-25 for the visitors.

Division Two

BIRSTWITH’S Ben Hodgson crashed 60no in the face of Lee Hirst’s 4-18 but it was not enough to beat LITTLE RIBSTON A who came through on 97-2, Hirst (37no) and Ted Daniels (33no) seeing them through.

BLUBBERHOUSES made up ground on the leaders GOLDSBOROUGH A after defeating the visitors by eight wickets. Batting first, the table-toppers posted 130-7 behind M Cockle (26) and D Shorter (24). Mark McEneaney scored 51 not out for the hosts, with Stephen Wilkinson adding 38 for Blubberhouses who scored 131-2.

HAMPSTHWAITE A defeated PATELEY BRIDGE by six wickets after Robin Hardcastle scored 72 with the bat. Pateley posted 140-5, helped along by Tom Simpson (51) and Chris Langley (35), with Ian Kenyon taking a pair of wickets for 19 runs. In reply, ‘Thwaite scored 142-4, with Tom Fryer picking up 3-30 for the visitors.

BILTON defeated NEWBY HALL by six wickets after scoring 137-4 in reply to Newby’s 136-5. Darren Simpson (44), Paul Cannings (52) and Si Clemerson (26) helped see Bilton to victory after Shane Murdoch took 3-37 during Newby’s innings. The visitors batted first with Ingle-Toombs scoring 42 and Lenny McKittrick 24.

Division Three

GLASSHOUSES beat CARR MANOR after Billy Graham (3-24) restricted them to 126-5, S Wood top scoring with 42no.

Tom Durrance then made a fine 75 no in reply as ’Houses pulled home on 129-3.

PANNAL beat BURTON LEONARD by 17 runs, thanks to Jonathan Smails (57) and Matt Henry (26), who batted them up to 137-9, Mark Fox taking 3-15.

Karl Jankowicz then made a fine 42 in reply but Sam Critchley’s 3-36 held them short on 120-7.

Steve Wood turned in a stellar display with the ball to keep KNARESBOROUGH FOREST’S hopes of avoiding relegation alive.

Wood took 5-14 to limit visiting GALPHAY to 89 all out. Forest, in reply, knocked off the runs for four wickets, scoring 90-4, with David Skaith picking up 28 not out.

Division Four

ARTHINGTON had a comfortable nine-wicket win over SCARCROFT after bowling the home side for 91.
