HARROGATE Railway secured an impressive 3-1 win at home to Woodley Sports on Saturday, while local rivals Harrogate Town lost by the same scoreline in Derbyshire.
Rail's result earned them three much-needed UniBond Division North points, and builds on the victory over Leigh Genesis a fortnight ago.
Striker Aaron Hollingdrake put Rail' a goal ahead five minutes before half-time, before a Ben Jones penalty and superb Liam Gray effort shot the hosts into a 3-0 lead just seven minutes into the second half.
Woodley threatened for large periods and pulled a goal back in the 65th minute through Mike Clarke, but Railway's defence held firm to collect the win.
Meanwhile HARROGATE TOWN crashed to a 3-1 reverse away at Alfreton Town.
They remain second bottom in the Blue Square North table, although rock-bottom side Vauxhall Motors have now levelled with Town on points after their nil-nil draw.
Town visit Blyth Spartans on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
