BECKWITHSHAW were indebted to a superb century from Ryan Bradshaw as they comfortably beat Bardsey to the 2008 Addison crown.
The Methley player smashed seven sixes and ten fours in his 109, ably supported by number two Ben Quick (52) who shared in a 159 opening partnership, thought to be a new record in the competition.
Bradshaw inevitably picked up the man-of-the-match award after bullying the Bardsey attack to all parts of Beckwithshaw's home ground before holing out in the penultimate over.
The 'keeper did survive a huge let-off when he was caught off a David Wright no ball with just seven overs gone but it was the only blip in a near faultless display.
The opening stand and late order flurries by Vic Craven (24no) and Danny Shuffe (10no) set a mammoth 216-2 for victory, effectively batting Andy Bowes' side out of the game at the interval.
The West Yorkshire side needed to go at nearly 12 runs an over throughout to be in with a sniff, a task which would rest heavily on the shoulders of former West Indian international Collis King.
57-year-old King certainly had the pedigree to pull off the difficult feat. His 86 off just 66 balls in the 1979 World Cup Final against England testament to the mans ability.
However despite strolling purposely to the crease it was 'Shaw's opening bowler Chris Thompson, an incredible 34 years his junior, who had him caught behind by Bradshaw for one in the third over.
It set the tone for an early collapse with Adam Patel (12) and Sarfraz Ahmed (0) soon following suit.
Then with the dangerous Kelvin Patterson dismissed for just six slicing the ball to Quick off James Lilley, the cup was all but 'Shaw's as Thompson (2-23) and Lilley (2-36) put a stranglehold on the game.
Bradford League legend Bar Bar Butt was next to go superbly caught by youngster Joe Downing on the long on boundary, for Craven's only wicket.
Aussie Mitch Brown (42) and David Wright (56) steadied the ship for Bardsey but the damage had already been done, the West Yorkshiremen staring down the shotgun of defeat.
'Shaw captain Andy Newbould bravely rotated his bowlers at the death with Andy Tiffany (0-21) and Alex Malcolm (1-24) on the receiving end of Wright and new batsman Amjid Ali who crashed a quick fire 28.
The late order comeback at least made Bardsey's run chase respectable on 167-9 but in truth it was always a bridge too far.
Downing closed the final with a neat 3-20 as Newbould's side finished the match in style, the skipper gleefully collecting his second Addison in the space of two years.
"It was just a great victory," said 'Shaw captain Newbould.
"Everyone was delighted. Ryan's innings was just superb, he just keeps doing it for us.
"I was surprised when Andy (Bowes) put us into bat. It was a good wicket and we've got a good line-up.
"We had Chris Thompson coming in at seven and that shows how strong we were.
"I bet they couldn't believe it when they saw Vic Craven coming in at three.
"159 for the opening partnership was fantastic. Both of them batted really well.
"Ben played the holding role but he too played an important innings. Ryan's was just great to watch.
"We then bowled well in reply. Chris Thompson and and James Lilley were excellent and it was great to get Collis King out so early."
