BOROUGHBRIDGE romped to a 9-0 whitewash of the club's second team to clinch the First Division title in the Harrogate and District Tennis League.
Victory means Boroughbridge regain the title they lost last year to The Academy.

The Boroughbridge club's big squad and strength in depth laid the foundations for this season's triumph clinched with a trio of matches still remaining before the end
of the season.

Boroughbridge first team have yet to lose a match this season. Their only setback came when they were surprisingly held by Thirsk to a draw.

Match details: Boroughbridge 9 Boroughbridge A team 0 (First team names first) :John Rowe and Laura Gilbert beat Alex Smith and Maija Moulton 6-3 6-5; beat Enric Bertran and Maureen Wilkinson 6-1 6-1; beat Andy Royston and Anne Ryan 6-0.

Haydn Andrew and Kate Needham beat Smith and Moulton 6-4; beat Bertran and Wilkinson 6-1 6-0; beat Royston and Ryan 6-0 6-0.

Neil Jackson and Cath Johnson beat Smith and Moulton 6-5 6-5; beat Bertran and Wilkinson 6-4; beat Royston and Ryan 6-3 6-2.

Meanwhile in Division Two Ripon and Harlow A team both look on course for promotion to the top flight.

Ripon kept on course for the club's first elevation to Division One with an 8-1 win over their A team while Harlow's match was postponed.
