Charity Dance: Pateley Bridge Dance Club will be holding a dance in aid of lifeboats tonight (Friday), at Pateley Bridge Memorial Hall, 8pm until midnight. Dancing to Mark Kitto. Please bring your own drink. Entry £6, including supper. All welcome.
Give Blood: The National Blood Service will be visiting the Memorial Hall on Thursday, July 17. Please make an effort to get along there for one of the two sessions, 2pm to 4pm or 5pm to 7.30pm. On the day, please make sure you feel well and have had
something to eat and drink before you give blood.

Cricket Matches: The Nidderdale Motors matches have now been finalised as follows: July 13 - Glasshouses v Birstwith. July 20 - Pateley Bridge v Kirkby Malzeard. Matches start at 2pm and are for a duration of 40 overs.
Rambler Bus: The AS Coaches Rambler Bus Service is now running every Sunday from Pateley Bridge to Lofthouse and Brimham Rocks via Fellbeck. Local usage would be a real bonus, the bus service is ideal for walking (dogs are allowed) and/or lunch out. Call Amanda on 01423 711252 for details or check local notice boards for timetables. Concessionary pass holders travel free.
Glasshouses Post Office: Glasshouses is currently open at Broadbelt Hall every Tuesday, 9.30am to 1pm.
Bandstand Events: There will be a lot going on at the Joe Longster Bandstand in Pateley Bridge recreation ground this weekend as part of the Nidderdale Festival and celebrating the tenth anniversary of the building of the bandstand. Tomorrow (Saturday) the Knaresborough Brass Band will be playing between 2pm and 4pm. On Sunday, between 2.30pm and 4pm there will be a celebration of 10 years of entertainment, including music by the two original bands who played at the inauguration, the Summerbridge and Dacre Silver Band and the Lofthouse Brass Band. All are welcome and the event is free. On Wednesday, there will be an evening concert by Nidderdale Brass between 7pm and 9pm.
Horse Show: There will be a horse show and car boot sale at The Agricultural Ground, Pateley Bridge on Sunday, July 6.
The Nidderdale High School Horse Show again aims to provide a day of enjoyable equestrian competition and family entertainment in a safe relaxed atmosphere.
Facilities at the showground will include catering (barbecue, cake stall, teas etc.) and ample level parking.
The show, to raise funds for Nidderdale High School, will host 30-plus horse and pony classes in five rings, strating at 9am.
Writers’ Group: The Nidderdale Writers’ Group is an informal small group interested in creative writing in all forms and genres. They plan what to do each week with ideas contributed from members, eg writing exercises, readings from members’ current work, general discussions on various aspects of writing. They meet from 1pm to 3pm on most Wednesday afternoons in Pateley Bridge.
There is a very small annual fee to join.
