WILDLIFE, the Iron Age and crocodile caves are among the diverse topics to be discussed by the Nidderdale Society in the coming year.
The society’s 2009 programme kicks off on January 19 with a talk from Andrew Willocks entitled The Last Decade at RHS Harlow Carr.

On February 16, Jim Brophy will speak about the Iron Age (Nidderdale) Project, followed on March 16 by John Luckett, discussing ‘Acid Faced Virgins’.

Eric Forster will make a presentation on April 20, entitled From Russia with Love. The society’s AGM is on May 18, followed by Mike McHale talking about the Crocodile Caves of Madagascar.

Subsequent talks will focus on The Journeys of Lady Anne Clifford (Alan Plowright, September 14), Yorkshire Water, Woodland and Wildlife (Geoff Lomas, October 19) and the National Trust in the South of England (John Bevers, November 16). The talks will take place at Dacre Banks Village Hall.
