Dance Night: Rocky Top country music and dance evening, tomorrow (Saturday) at 8pm at Darley Memorial Hall. Tickets £5, hot suppers available, all welcome, details 780258.
Coffee Morning: There will be a coffee morning and Jackanory Story Time at Christ Church Community Centre on Friday, July 11, 11am to noon.

The mobile library will be at the centre between 10.50 and 11.10. There will be a chiropody clinic; for app

Dacre Banks Open Gardens: Three beautiful gardens in Dacre Banks will be open in aid of the National Gardens Scheme charities on Sunday, from 11am to 5pm. A lovely, half-mile walk along the Nidderdale valley links the gardens, although each garden may be accessed separately by car. Combined admission to all the gardens is £5, children free. Visitors may start their tour at any of the three gardens where a map will be provided.

Each garden enjoys attractive views over the Nidderdale countryside, but has its own distinctive character and atmosphere. Low Hall has a large romantic garden in keeping with C17 family home where roses festoon the house and dry-stone walls. Orchard House has a two-acre informal garden with a large wild flower area planted to attract bees and butterflies. The two-acre flower arranger’s garden at Yorke House has colour-themed borders and extensive water features, including ponds and stream. Together, the gardens offer many innovative features of interest to visitors and should prove a wonderful day out for anyone wishing to relax in beautiful surroundings.

Cream teas will be available during the day at Yorke House and Low Hall. Visitors may also use the picnic area in the orchard at Yorke House. Parking and plant stalls available at each garden. For further information contact Pat Hutchinson on 01423 780456.

Country Fair: St Jude’s Church, Hartwith hosts a Midsummer Country Fair and Gift Day on Saturday, July 12, 2pm to 4pm.

Flower festival, Hartwith heritage, village teas, bouncy castle, beat the goalie, pony rides, welly-wanging, cakes, white elephant, tombola, book stall, raffle, face painting. Adult tickets £3 (including parking and tea) available from Summerbridge Stores, Todd’s and Summerbridge Post Office.

Darley Open Gardens: Darley Open Gardens on Sunday, July 13 from noon to 5pm. There are 16 beautiful and interesting gardens open, including three gardens which have not opened before. The main starting point is Darley Sports Pavilion, Station Road, Darley where you can collect your ticket/map of the gardens . Adults £5, children free. Afternoon teas and plants for sale also at the sports pavilion.

Fun Day: This Sunday, from 1pm, at Dacre and Hartwith Playing Fields. Visit the full-size, replica Spitfire with Gracie and Vera singing along in true British style. Take part in our Time-Line by bringing along photos (copies if precious). Games, afternoon teas, BBQ, Farmers’-style market stalls, Irish dancers, races, children's entertainments, and enjoy the return of Spigure of Feach and much more fun. See you there.
