Ann Breen In Concert: Ann Breen will be appearing in concert at Hampsthwaite Memorial Hall tonight Friday August 8 at 7.30pm. Tickets can be reserved by ringing 01423 770609.
YCA and WI News: The ladies of Burnt Yates cum Hartwith branch of the Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association and the Hampsthwaite branch of the Women’s Institute will be out in force this Saturday at the Ripley Show.

The YCA members will be selling
their home made produce and plants and the WI members exhibiting their skills in the competitions so go along and say hello.

Then on Tuesday August 12 the YCA ladies will be enjoying their summer lunch at Hob Green Hotel in Markington.

Apologies: I am afraid my column didn’t appear last week due to technical difficulties.

I know it is very disappointing when someone has taken the trouble to contact me to ask me to put an item in the paper, only for it not to be mentioned.

Coffee Morning: The next Coffee Morning up at St Andrew’s Church in Burnt Yates will be on Wednesday August 13 between 10 -11.30am with the raffle being drawn at 11am.

Admission is £1.50 and this includes refreshments. There will be bric and brac and cake stalls.

Art Exhibition: Local artists, Betty and Gill Philips and members of the Trinity Art Group will be exhibiting their works for sale at the Bay Horse Community Centre over the weekend of August Bank Holiday, August 23-25

The café will be open for refreshments.

Cricketers Wanted!: The annual Rectors XI vs the Churchwardens XI is taking place on Sunday August 31 at 2pm and players are needed. Help with the refreshments, raffle prizes and cakes will also be most welcome.

Contact the Churchwardens to offer help.
