Bag2 School: Just a reminder that on Wednesday, July 15 St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Bishop Thornton is once again collecting Bag2 School for your unwanted clothes, shoes, curtains and bedding.
This is great way to have a clear out and recycle at same time while you are helping to raise money for the school. If you can't get there on the morning you can drop off at 21 Grange Close Shaw Mills they will make sure they get there.

Feast and
Sports Day: Tomorrow Saturday, June 27 starting at 1pm in Bishop Thornton the Bishop Thornton and Shaw Mills Sport and Feast Day is taking place. Why not go along and join in the fun? Fancy Dress all ages (Circus Theme) sports races, swing boats and bouncy slide, cake stall, bric-a-brac stall, plants, cake stall and complimentary afternoon teas. In the evening at 7pm there is a barbecue, you will need to bring your own food and wine to drink, along with salads and puddings to share. Beer is provided also some chairs are available, but please bring you own chair if possible.

If you are providing sandwiches and cakes for the afternoon tea please take these to St Joseph's Catholic Primary School at the start of the Sports and Feast Day. Any offers of help on the day would be welcome please call Fiona Spalding on 01423-770519 or Jonathan Brookbank on 01765-620220.

Youth Group: Becki Gilmour is hoping to have an Open Forum in Markington Institute very soon as she is trying to start a Youth Group. She would love to hear your views. Family Service: Sunday, June 28 at 11.15am St Johns CE Church Bishop Thornton Family Services; Saturday, July 4 from 2-5pm. St Aidan’s High School Harrogate is celebrating the school’s 40th Anniversary and inviting former students and staff for a reunion, this is a great opportunity to view all the changes that have taken place over the years and meet up with old friends and acquaintances.

1964-1970: On Saturday, July 11 in Ripley Town Hall, Ripley Blues has the best 60's tribute band in the world, The Mods, playing the music of an era! 1964-1970. More details on their website at www.ripleyblues.com

Horse Show: July 5 in Pateley Bridge will be the 3rd Annual Charity Horse Show which helps raise money for the local High School. There will be variety of show jumping, and fun classes, this show is forecasted to attract over 150 entrants due to the fact that this event is firmly established on the Equestrian Calendar.

I would also like to remind everybody that they also collect Nestle box tops for schools. When Morrisons vouchers are launched for planting and growing they will also be collecting those too.
