TV actress Claire King will open the Birstwith 5k Fun Run which aims to raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Heather Robinson, from Birstwith North Yorkshire, has organised the event to raise much needed funds for the nation’s heart charity on Sunday July 19.

The race will start at 10am at The Old Station Inn in Birstwith near Harrogate and will be open
ed by Claire King, who has starred in Emmerdale and Bad Girls.

The Fun Run is open to people of all ages and abilities and awards will be given to the top three runners from each of the following categories; overall, women and under 16s.

Heather Robinson said: “Last summer I was the first woman back in the Oxford to Cambridge cycle race held by the BHF and chose to support the charity by organising the Fun Run because of their immaculately organised events and the fact that heart disease runs in my family.

“I am also a Personal Trainer and think physical exercise is extremely important and is something the BHF always promotes. I hope as many people as possible will come along on the day and help raise vital funds for the charity.”

If anyone would like to register for the Fun Run or would like more information, please contact Heather Robinson on 07545 009981 or The Old Station Inn in Birstwith on 01423 770254.

Entry fee is a minimum donation of £2 and all proceeds will go to the BHF. Refreshments will also be available at The Old Station Inn on completion of the run.

For more information about volunteering with the BHF or fundraising, please contact Lucy Watson on 01904 639308 / 07802 755798 or email watsonl@bhf.org.uk.
