PROMOTERS DMB's mission to bring quality international and UK acts to play locally has switched from Ripon to Harrogate.
First off in Harrogate will be an 'indie' triple bill at new venue Rehab (ex-Native State) on Friday, November 28.

This line-up to mark DMB's first Harrogate show will feature Pavilion, rated as Wakefield's finest band since The Cribs, along with Harrogate's fast-rising The Birdman Rallies and sizzling Scottish songster Gary Stewart.

Rehab itself opens on Parliament Street next Thursday with a champagne reception.

As a sort of farewell to Ripon, DMB are holding a special 'living room' gig with Swedish singer Josefina Sanner tomorrow, Saturday.

Sanner, who is much influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Ron Sexsmith, Kate Bush and Neil Young, will be supported by fast-rising Scottish singer-songwriter Gary Stewart who has been compared to both Paul Simon and The Smiths.

Entry by invitation and donation. This supercedes the planned show by Sanner at Ripon Rugby Club which had to be cancelled because of licensing issues.

It is a fitting way to end DMB's first year as organiser David Moss-Blundell kicked off the venture in December, 2007 with a stunning acoustic performance by Sanner at David Stead Gallery.

This was followed in January, 2008, by an appearance by fast-rising US star Jacob Golden. Jacob went on to appear on Jools Holland's famous 'Later' show barely a fortnight later.

Soon there followed gigs by exciting emerging Leeds artist Micky P Kerr, the soon-to-be-famous Red Light Company, cult Scottish star Colin MacIntyre, former La's bassist and Cast frontman John Power and San Diego country-soul star Eve Selis.

And DMB have just announced that it has booked John Power for a Christmas show at Harrogate's soon to be launched live venue Rehab on Thursday, December 18.
